Finding a new sports bra

A comfortable bra that reduces or stops bouncing is a requirement when you’re horseback riding.  In the past few years my favorite bra, the Fiona bra, has been harder to find.

One thing I adore about the Fiona bra is that it doesn’t have an underwire. It has 4 rows of hooks and eyes for added support.  It has velcro on the straps so it’s very easy to adjust. It reduces bounce without causing me to feel like I am trapped in a corset!

So my requirements were:

·  No underwire

·  Easily adjustable straps

·  Little to no bounce

·  3 – 4 rows of hooks and eyes

I searched through a few articles and found the Brooks Brooks Dare Scoopback Running Bra. It had good reviews and was on sale at REI so I ordered it. I don’t care about color much, so I was ok with the bright orange option. After all, that was the one on sale!

I was impressed with the bra as I examined it. It seemed well made and had an interesting looking adjustable strap. The strap was very easy to adjust. You just pull out the long metal hook, and then insert it into the hole of your choice. I tried it on, and it was very comfortable. The next day I wore it while riding. It was easy to adjust whether I was mounted or not.  It reduced bouncing enough that I bought a second one. Now it doesn’t do as well on bounce reduction as the Fiona one, but it looks like I won’t be able to get those anymore, so I made the switch to the Brooks one.  I hope this helps!
